Day 01: Arequipa – Chivay - Yanque (trekking, and hot springs)
At 07:30/08:00 a.m. we pick you up at your hotel in Arequipa and departure towards North West direction.
Behind the snow-covered Chachani we will see wild vicuñas, alpacas and lamas in the "Pampa Cañahuas" National Reserve. Also we’ll see some birds like flamingoes, ibises, Andean geese, ducks and Andean eagles ("Kara Kara"). We will stop at the viewing point of the volcanoes and snow covered mountains in Patapampa (4,800 m.a.s.l).
From this point we made the descent towards the town of Yanque (Killawasi Lodge), previously coordinated lunch in Chivay or if you prefer we can coordinated your lunch in the Hotel.
In our hotel you’ll be accommodated in one of our junior suite (spacious and comfortable rooms with private terrace surrounded by beautiful scenery, ideal environment for reading or resting. The bedroom features a king size bed, two twin beds or three with cotton sheets, antiallergic pillows, central heating, large bathroom with tub, hot water, soft cotton towels and amenities needed to make your stay an unforgettable experience).
In the afternoon we start the short trek of about three hours. Will be visiting the amphitheater of Oqolle, crossing the “Sifon” bridge (in this point you can appreciate the Colcas), we will climb to the ruins of Uyu Uyu (from there you can enjoy a panoramic view of the Canyon and the town of Yanque).
Before returning to the hotel we will go to the hot springs where you can relax. At night you can enjoy a dinner at the hotel.
Day 02: Yanque- The Condor’s Cross - Arequipa
After an early morning breakfast (06:00 a.m.) we leave for a full day excursion at the left shore of the canyon.
We’ll visit some beautiful and typical towns, colonial churches, gentle people with typical needlework dresses, and hundreds of pre Inca terraces still in use growing Andean products like corn, quinua and kiwicha.
After two hours drive we’ll get to the most visited point: “The Condor’s Cross”, here we’ll be able to see the deepest part of the canyon and the flight of the condor. After lunch we return to Arequipa (arrival approximately at 17:00).
